    Privacy Policy

HYRED (ABN 22 301 027 756, a registered business name of Hamish James Clarke) ("HYRED", "we", "us") operates hyred.com.au, a marketplace connecting apprentices, labourers and qualified tradespeople with Australian trade businesses. This policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose your personal information, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

    1. What we collect

    • Candidates (apprentices, labourers, qualified tradies): name, email, phone, suburb/state, trade, apprenticeship year or qualification status, resume and any documents you upload (e.g. proof of training, licences, white card), profile photo if provided, and messages you send through HYRED.
    • Businesses: business name, ABN, contact name, email, phone, trade, location, job posts, and messages sent through HYRED.
    • Everyone: account credentials, payment records for paid features (payments are processed by our payment provider — we do not store full card numbers), device and usage information (IP address, browser, pages visited), and communications with us.

    2. Why we collect it

We use personal information to: operate the marketplace (showing candidate profiles to registered businesses and job posts to candidates — this is the core function of the service); create and manage accounts; process payments for business features; send notifications you've requested (e.g. new roles, messages, application updates); verify businesses (e.g. ABN checks); improve the service; and comply with legal obligations.

    3. Who we share it with

Personal information is shared: between candidates and businesses as part of how the marketplace works (e.g. when you apply for a role, the business sees your profile; when a business with messaging unlocked contacts you, they see the details you've made visible); with service providers that host and run HYRED (website hosting, database, email delivery, payment processing, analytics); and where required by law. We do not sell personal information.

Some service providers may store data outside Australia (e.g. cloud hosting in the United States). Where that occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable privacy protection.

    4. Users under 18

Many apprentices are under 18. We only collect the information needed to run the service, and we recommend users under 18 involve a parent or guardian when creating a profile. If you are a parent or guardian and want your child's information removed, contact us at the address below.

    5. Storage and security

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including access controls and encrypted connections. No online service can guarantee absolute security. We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law; you can delete your account at any time by emailing info@hyred.com.au.

    6. Access, correction and complaints

You can access and update most of your information from your account dashboard. To request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask for a correction, or make a privacy complaint, email info@hyred.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time (usually 30 days). If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).

    7. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies for sign-in sessions and to understand how the site is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

    8. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version on this page with a revised date, and notify you of material changes.
