Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of hyred.com.au, operated by HYRED (ABN 22 301 027 756, a registered business name of Hamish James Clarke) ("HYRED", "we", "us"). By creating an account you agree to them.
1. What HYRED is (and isn't)
HYRED is a marketplace that connects candidates (apprentices, labourers and qualified tradespeople) with Australian trade businesses. We are not an employer, recruiter, labour-hire provider or group training organisation. Any employment, apprenticeship or engagement is directly between the candidate and the business, on terms they agree between themselves. We don't guarantee that candidates will find work or that businesses will find hires.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information and keep your login secure. One account per person or business. Candidate accounts are for individuals seeking trade work; business accounts are for businesses genuinely hiring. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms, post fake or misleading listings or profiles, or misuse the platform.
Under-18 users: candidates under 18 may use HYRED; we recommend involving a parent or guardian.
3. Verification
We check business ABNs and review listings, and candidates may upload proof of training. Verification is a good-faith check, not a guarantee — always do your own due diligence before entering an employment arrangement (and businesses should sight original licences/qualifications before hiring).
4. Fees
Candidates: free, forever. No charge to create a profile, browse, or apply.
Businesses: Browsing profiles and posting roles is free.
- Messaging unlock: $29 AUD gives one calendar month of messaging, including your first candidate contact; each additional candidate contacted in that month is $2 AUD.
- Success fee: payable when you hire a candidate you found or contacted through HYRED — $99 AUD per hire for Founding 100 businesses (locked in permanently), $249 AUD per hire otherwise. A "hire" means the candidate starts work with you and remains engaged beyond one week (including trial periods). You must report a hire to us within 14 days of the start date; the success fee is then invoiced.
Prices are in AUD. HYRED is GST registered; GST is handled at checkout.
Refunds: the messaging unlock is non-refundable, with one exception — if there are no candidates listed in your area (your trade and region) when you purchase, contact us at info@hyred.com.au and we'll refund the unlock in full. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law — if a service we provide fails to meet a consumer guarantee, you're entitled to the remedies the law provides.
Fee avoidance: deliberately taking contact off-platform to avoid the success fee (e.g. contacting a candidate found on HYRED through other channels to dodge the fee) is a breach of these terms and may result in account closure and the fee remaining payable.
5. Content and conduct
You're responsible for what you post. No misleading job ads or profiles, no discriminatory requirements beyond what the law allows for genuine occupational reasons, no harassment, no spam, no scraping or harvesting of candidate data. Business access to candidate profiles is for genuine hiring only — candidate data must not be used for marketing or resold. You grant us a licence to display the content you post for the purpose of running the service.
6. Availability and changes
HYRED is provided "as is". We aim for high availability but don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may change features, pricing for future purchases (never a locked-in founding rate), or these terms — we'll notify account holders of material changes, and continued use after notice is acceptance.
7. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or $100 if you paid none). Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. We are not liable for the conduct of other users — employment arrangements are between candidate and business.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information and forms part of these terms.
9. General
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. If any clause is unenforceable, the rest still applies. Contact: info@hyred.com.au.
